Koszela 90+11
SHOLING 1
Folivi 45+1
A dramatic late goal from Olaf Koszela extended Dorchester’s unbeaten run to 15 games in the Southern League.
Michael Folivi had put the visitors ahead in added time of the first half but the Magpies dogged persistence paid off to secure a point and remain well and truly in the hunt for a playoff spot.
Tom Killick made three changes from the win over Bracknell last weekend.
There was a debut in goal for the returning Harry Lee, who has signed on a month-long loan with Gerard Benfield out injured, whilst Will Spetch and Wes Fogden returned. Jordan Ngalo missed the tie due to injury.
Sholing dominated the ball in the opening exchanges but both defences held strong as both sides created a few half chances.
Shaq Gwengwe had a good chance to put Dorchester ahead after Corby Moore’s brilliant ball over the top – but the striker was denied by Pat Nash.
Koszela had his first sight at go moments later but again Nash stood firm with Fogden unable to tuck the rebound away.
With the game in added a time, it was Sholing who broke the deadlock though.
The visitors turned defence into attack in seconds and Folivi finished well from a tight angle having come in off the right wing.
After the restart, Sholing started brightly again and almost doubled their lead instantly. Fabio Lopes found Blaise Riley-Snow whose shot was blocked by a Dorchester defender.
The Magpies were not going to let Sholing have all the action though and wonderful Luke Pardoe cross picked out Koszela but the striker could not keep his effort down.
With the hour mark approaching, a volley Spetch appeared to be handled in the box but the referee waved play on.
Moments later Marcus Daws had a shot of his own but Nash was again strong between the sticks.
As the game entered the final 10 minutes fo normal time, Sholing came close again to a second goal, this time a cross from Charlie Gunson was blocked right in front of the goal line.
Dorchester started throwing men forward in an attempt to find an equaliser and it seemed like it might not be their day.
Strikes from Luke Roberts, and a Spetch header which came crashing off the bar as the time seemed to tick away and Sholing’s goal unscathed.
However, with 11 minutes of added time on the clock, Koszela found some space in the box and sent a strike goalbound with the final kick of the game to the delight of the home crowd.
