Daws 71
HANWELL TOWN 4
Krasniqi 20, Pendlebury 28, Wilson 33, Nditi 35
A FIRST half blitz from Hanwell saw Dorchester well beaten at the Avenue Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
The Magpies are now six points adrift of safety after The Geordies fired in four first half goals to stun their hosts in a 15 minute spell.
Ernaldo Krasniqi opened the scoring after 20 minutes before Alfie Pendlebury netted eight minutes later.
Joe Wilson’s free kick made it 3-0 after 33 minutes and then Roberto Nditi completed the devastating blitz in the 35th minute.
Marcus Daws struck back with 19 minutes to go and both he and Harvey Wright found the post as Dorchester tried to claw their way back into the game.
But it was too little too late and with results around them not going their way, it leave the Magpies in a precarious position in the table.
Tom Killick made two changes from last weekend’s win over Havant & Waterlooville as Wayne Robinson and Luke Roberts returned to the starting line up.
Connor Underhill and Joe Parker were the two players to miss with both dropping to the bench alongside new signing Lee Hodson.
Jay Williams also kept his place in the starting eleven with Will Spetch on the bench for the second league game in a row.
Dorchester had a few half chances as the game got under way Corby moore and Roberts both firing wide in the opening 20 minutes.
But it all then started to unravel as Hanwell found the opener through Krasniqi fired into the roof of the net on the turn after a corner dropped to his feet.
Dorchester looked to reply and six minutes Luke Pardoe cut in off the wing but fired narrowly over.
Hanwell soon had a firm grip on the game though after Pendlebury poked home after Gerard Benfield spilled Wilson’s strike
Another set piece was Dorchester’s undoing, this time Wilson whipping the ball from a freekick on the corner of the box which eluded everyone and found its way past Benfield.
Hanwell concluded their scoring in the 35th minute with a rapid break forward which was started and finished by Nditi after receiving the ball back from Wilson.
With the team 4-0 down at the break, Killick brought on former Northern Irish international Hodson in an attempt to turn the game back in their favour.
Daws was also introduced 10 minutes into the half along with Underhill and Dorchester began to look more of a threat.
Just before the hour mark Daws had a shot deflected wide before Pardoe had a shot tipped wide.
Daws did manage to pull one back in the 71st minute has he found the bottom corner and Dorchester kept pushing.
Harvey Wright headed onto the post 10 minutes from time and Hodson put the rebound wide.
Daws then hit the posts from a tight angle and Hodson also had a shot tipped over the bar as Dorchester pushed hard towards the end.
Hanwell’s Dwayne Duncan was also sent off for a second bookable offence a couple minutes before full time.
But the damage had been done in 15 first half minutes and Dorchester are now beginning to be cut adrift at the bottom of the table.
Next up is a trip to Yate Town on Saturday.
