The Dorset Police and Crime Commissioner and Age UK North, South and West Dorset collaborate

The Dorset Police and Crime Commissioner has commissioned Age UK North, South and West Dorset for the ‘Older Safer Intiative’. The project will focus on increasng digital resilience in older people; providing a support network to tackle social isolation; and enhancing safety in the home.

Access to finance challenge for small businesses

Accessing finance is becoming more difficult for a large number of SMEs, according to new data.  
Around half (49%) of business surveyed who accessed finance felt that getting funding had become more challenging over the past three years.  Only 13% said it was getting easier.

Business Grants available from £2,000-£20,000 (match funded)

Dorset Council has launched two new grant schemes using funding from UK Shared Prosperity Fund and Rural England Prosperity Fund grants for both community groups and organisations, together with local business grants. Round 1 of both the UKSPF and REPF will close on Wednesday 31 January 2024.
