Students and those going back to university are being warned about the top fraud types affecting young people, as new data reveals almost 69,000 reports were received from people aged between 11 and 29, losing a total of £143.7 million in 2023.

Access to finance challenge for small businesses

Accessing finance is becoming more difficult for a large number of SMEs, according to new data.  
Around half (49%) of business surveyed who accessed finance felt that getting funding had become more challenging over the past three years.  Only 13% said it was getting easier.

Business Grants available from £2,000-£20,000 (match funded)

Dorset Council has launched two new grant schemes using funding from UK Shared Prosperity Fund and Rural England Prosperity Fund grants for both community groups and organisations, together with local business grants. Round 1 of both the UKSPF and REPF will close on Wednesday 31 January 2024.
