Motorists injured in three-vehicle crash that forced road to close

As reported, the A354 relief road between Weymouth and Dorchester was closed due to a crash involving multiple vehicles.

The road was closed between Jurassic Roundabout in Littlemoor at the A353 junction, and the Stadium Roundabout in Dorchester.

Police have now confirmed that the crash involved three vehicles, and that minor injuries were reported.

The crash caused chaos on the road as motorists were reporting gridlocked routes on the road through Sutton Poyntz and Coombe Valley as well as the A353 and through Martinstown.

Police confirmed that the road was closed for just shy of two hours as the route was blocked, meaning a closure was necessary.

A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: “We received a report at 5.18pm on Tuesday 4 November 2025 of a three-vehicle collision on the A354 Weymouth Relief Road.

“Officers attended and road closures were put in place while vehicle recovery was arranged.

“Minor injuries were reported. The road re-opened shortly before 7pm.

“It was reported the road was blocked and vehicle recovery was required, so road closures were necessary.”
